Research has shown that red light is a vital part of the visible spectrum which stimulates the photoperiodic response in plants. To be more precise red light at about 660-670 nanometres will help plants to achieve maximum photosynthetic efficiency. It will also encourage the maximum absorption of chlorophyll.

The new Rosalux supplementary red growth light can:
- Encourage germination, bud development and branching and rooting
- Promote the rooting of cuttings and improve root development
- Enhance vegetable growth
- Be used as a growth regulator
- Prevent loss of quality during shipping
- Light is produced by energy efficient LEDs, which lose just 10% of energy to heat. This results in low running costs of less than one penny per day for a single ‘Rosalux’.
